Targa Hellyer Gorge -Rookie Battle
With just under one week until Targa Hellyer Gorge, last minute preparations are underway for our Rookie entrants looking to secure themselves a Free entry into Targa High Country later in the year.
Rookie Classic will see an exciting battle between two vehicles at complete opposite ends of the spectrum.
Local Hobart duo Chris Wilson and Meegan Spurr in their beautifully prepared and timeless 1974 Porsche 911 RS pitted against the Aussie Muscle of Ben Dixon and Ben Carpenter’s 1977 A9X Torana.
The sleek New South Wales team of Paul Brennan and Paul Fitzpatrick will be showcasing their 95 Subaru Impreza in the Rookie GT competition, against the Renault Megane driven by Grant Denyer to second place in Showroom 2WD at Targa Tasmania 2015.
This year the Renault will be in the hands of new comer Bede Clifton, Country Club Tasmania’s marketing manager. Fellow Tasmanian Wil Gordon, with five Targa Tasmania campaigns under his belt will be sure to provide invaluable knowledge and support to his new team mate.
Best of luck gents, and Meegan!
