Spirit of Tasmania OFFICIAL Sailing Announced

Many competitors will remember the days of the Official Sailing that saw the `Cavalcade of Motoring History’ arrive in Devonport to much fanfare and hoopla, complete with John Large waving flags from the lead car and for many years since we have attempted to bring this iconic time back to life.

What better time to do this than at the 25th Anniversary of Targa Tasmania and thanks to our close friends at the Spirit of Tasmania, they also felt that it was important for the 25th Anniversary event to start as so many did in the early years.

We are therefore extremely excited to announce the return of the OFFICIAL TARGA TASMANIA SAILING from Melbourne to Devonport on FRIDAY 8th April departing at 9.00am.

You will find all the booking details on the Booking the Spirit of Tasmania page of our website under Targa Tasmania.

TSD Trophy

TSD Trophy will have a Four Step Podium for 2016, awarding the best placed Classic entrant as well as the top three entrants in the competition.

For those of you unfamiliar with the TSD (Time, Speed, Distance) Trophy format, the challenge is more than just going as fast as you can. The competition is based on achieving a set average speed on each stage while adhering to a 130km speed limit. This is a real mathematical challenge for both Driver and Co Driver, and a guarantee of competition intensity both inside and outside of the cockpit right through to the end of the last stage.
