Brendan Winterbourn and Anthony Chudleigh in a Mitsubishi Evo X have won the RDA Brakes Modern competition at Targa Tasmania after a dominant performance.

Brendan Winterbourn and Anthony Chudleigh in a Mitsubishi Evo X have won the RDA Brakes Modern competition at Targa Tasmania after a dominant performance.

The West Australians led home Greg and Rhonda Burrowes, also driving a Mitsubishi Evo, with Peter Mayer and Nicole O’Neill third in a 2007 Porsche.

“It’s been two year since we finished on the podium in Modern and the car’s sat in the shed since then, so we thought we should bring it back out for the 25th anniversary Targa.

“It’s been a good decision, but although we had a solid lead at this stage and it’s all about making it to the finish.

“We’ve had a really good run– there’s a little rattle in the back, but we think we know what it is and it’s been there all week and doesn’t seem to be getting any worse.

“We took it easy at the beginning of the week, so we had plenty of tyre wear left as well.”

Fourth and fifth places went to a pair of Mitsubishi Lancer Evo Xs in the hands of Ed Kreamer / Paul Harvey, and the Hines / Hines pairing.
