Pullman Reef Hotel Casino To Support Targa Great Barrier Reef

The first running of Targa Great Barrier Reef promises to bring plenty of excitement to the Cairns region. With the event positioned to attract high earning visitors to Cairns, it was always going to have great synergies with Pullman Reef Hotel Casino in being able to provide these visitors with the high quality stay, that they will be looking for in late August and early September.

The complex could not agree more, so we have inked a three year deal with Targa Australia to host the event until at least 2020, showing the confidence the local hospitality industry already has in the new motor sport event.

The deal will see the event host its Welcome Party, along with the all-important Ceremonial Start right outside Pullman Reef Hotel Casino’s front door on 31st August from 7.30 to 10.00am.

Targa Great Barrier Reef Event Director, Mark Perry, felt the deal was an important first major private commercial deal for the new event; “It is vitally important for the event’s long term success, that we have large local businesses directly engaged and involved in Targa. It gives our customers the confidence to travel to Cairns and compete. Having Pullman Reef Hotel Casino agree to partner with us is fantastic news for the event and we look forward to bringing the excitement of Targa, right to the front doors of the hotel in the months ahead”.

Pullman Reef Hotel Casino CEO, Allan Tan said ‘We are delighted to partner with Targa Great Barrier Reef and put our support behind such an exciting new event. Hosting events of this calibre in our region, adds value greatly to our tourism industry, and as the venue partner we look forward to welcoming both the event participants and spectators to our property, and showcasing the highlights that our beautiful part of the world has to offer’.

The deal will see a number of Targa related displays and promotions happening at the complex over the next three months.

The Ceremonial Start will see the entire Targa field leave from outside the hotel entrance and include a ribbon cutting and flag wave off of the first car, a VIP viewing area and the pomp and ceremony associated with every Targa event.

The Ceremonial Start will be another free event for the public to enjoy.

Targa Great Barrier Reef runs for the first time from 31st August until 2nd September.
