Jensen CV8 Mk2 VIN104/2070

This was the first Mk2 CV8 delivered, 16th October 1963. Imported to Australia in the late 1970’s and subject to a full body off restoration, reconfigured and fully optimised for Tarmac Rally LMS specification in 2002. 

Current CAMS Marque Sports log book and AASA passport. Full NSW registration with engineer’s certificate. 

421cu/in ‘B’ block Chrysler engine built by Muscle Motors Racing (Michigan) to LMS specs, custom steel crank, Flowed heads, Ross pistons, T&D roller rockers, all the usual performance bolt-ons including dual dash switchable MSD’s with back-up coils. PWR custom dual pass radiator (plus 2 spares supplied). Manual ‘Hemi’ A833 gearbox per original but with PAR custom dog-set. (Complete bolt-in spare dog box supplied) Hurst competition shifter, Centreforce Dual Friction 11” clutch with Quartermaster hydraulic release bearing (spares included), Eaton TruTrac diff with Romac floating axles (spare axle and Auburn diff centre included). Custom 85litre alloy fuel tank (120ltr spare included). Racing Car Technology suspension with Koni competition front shocks, QA1 competition rear shocks (plus spare set included). King springs all-round. Full set of spare suspension components supplied including king-pins. O’Brien custom wiring harness with dual masters. Bosnjak Engineering front uprights and carriers, Porsche ‘Brembo’ front callipers on HSV rotors PBR ‘Corvette’ rear callipers on HSV rotors. Tilton bulkhead-mount balance bar pedal set. Hydraulic handbrake. Set of 6 (original) Simmons 2 piece 16” rims on 30 bolt B45 centres. Full Wildridge roll cage including rear corner brace. SPA design digital gauges, Cobra race seats, spare (different size) navigators seat, current six point harnesses and safety equipment. A number of body moulds come with the vehicle. 

This vehicle is probably the most awarded car in Tarmac Rallying, over 120 trophies including multiple wins and podiums in Targa Tasmania, Classic Adelaide and Targa High Country (Outright and Handicap) and several championship series wins, totally sorted after the first few years with many performance upgrades and ‘no expense spared’ maintenance through its 14 years of competition life. Ready and able to top the podium again and will go into the Targa ‘Hall of Fame’ on its next Targa. Without doubt the most well known vehicle of the Jensen Marque worldwide. Truly amazing and predictable handling characteristics with awesome acceleration, 235km top speed on 3.1:1 final drive, 603 flywheel horsepower and over 560lb/ft torque on a lazy 6,000 rpm limiter. 50/50 weight distribution (from standard) and bulletproof driveline. Had the factory bothered to race these vehicles in period they would certainly have won Le Mans. 

Time to move this car on as I have built a (somewhat controversial) replacement and my navigator refuses to get into it while we still own the Jensen. The vehicles purchaser will have service and rally assistance available with our team if required.
